Hotel recommendation in Waikiki

I haven't been to Hawaii in 15 years or so and me and the future mrs. got invited to a wedding on the 24th of June. We were thinking of just sending a nice gift, but now we're leaning towards attending the thing.

I've looked all around, and found some nice package deals for around 3G's including 2 tix, our hotel and car, for a 6 night stay. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for hotels in Waikiki, cause they all look about the same to me online in that price range.

A place on the sand with a comfortable bed and an ocean view is about my only prerequisite.

Thanks in advance.

JV

Sheraton Waikiki is good one.
Since you are going after 15 years, you may also want to check Kuai and Maui as a pre-honeymoon. We were in Hawaii few years ago and had spent 3 weeks there.

Hyatt Waikiki
Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa(There are great rooms and some bad rooms) Great Location and great swimming pool beach access.
Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki, by the harbor
I personally did not like Shraton Waikiki because it was really old, was there last Oct they ripped me off.
Most hip place would be W in Honolulu. My big shot buddy there put his guest in Prince Hotel. I would try to stay away from anything that says Outrigger.
Good luck!

Not sure if there are any deals with these hotels, but I grew up in Honolulu and the 2 hotels in Waikiki I would recommend would be the Moana Surfrider and the Halekulani. I've never been in a room at the W, and I'm sure it's nice, but I've been to the club there and it gets pretty loud, so you might not get much peace and quiet. If you care more about staying on the beach more so than in Waikiki, check out the Kahala or the Ihilani. The Ihilani is a kinda far by Hawaii standards (about a 40 minute drive), but is very peaceful and relaxing. My mom lives there, so if you have any questions, let me know and I'll see what I can find out.

Thanks for the rec's, y'all. We're budgeting 3 grand for this jaunt, give or take a couple hundred, otherwise we'd do the Mandarin Oriental or something. Sorry Ken, unless we all fly in the wheel wells of the plane, a trip for 4 ain't in the budget

I hope we can get out to the big island and or/Maui while out there, but all the wedding festivities are taking place near the Naval base at Pearl, so I figured staying at Waikiki was the easiest.

Gonna check out the hotels mentioned above and hope to nail it down by tomorrow afternoon. No rooms available at the Moana Surfrider for when I want to go

Are you retired military? If so, the Hale Koa is awesome for about $80/night! I just stayed there in April and got a room for 4 nights on a 9 day notice.
