Polarized display

I was using a loaner 325 today, while my TCU was replaced under warranty. When I turned on the radio, I heard it, but saw nothing on the display (not NAV, but a more traditional MID). I finally figured out the display is polarized, and exactly at the wrong angle for me to see it while wearing my sunglasses. The A/C had a display just below it, but it is not polarized at all.

Anybody else seen this issue? I think it is a mistake and a potential safety issue.

All LCD displays are polarized. I noticed it on my cell phone when I had my Maui Jims on. I don't think it's a safety concern if the driver is aware of the situation.

You're not alone. Check out this thread on E90post about this very issue. 3 pages worth so far.

OK, cool. I haven't noticed the display issue in my X5, anyway.
