Thank God, we smoked zarqawi!!!

Being a member of the Air Force that dropped the Mark 82's/JDAMS from an F-16 that smoked this piece of shit and having been to the desert for this war, I couldn't be more proud! He WAS al-queda, he WAS in Iraq terrorizing that country and he is no more. There are more al-queda members there and we will smoke them too. UNLESS you've been there you will never know what we are accomplishing there contrary to what the liberal media portrays. Yes, zarqawi was there becasue we are there. But, would you rather have had him there or here in our country concentrating terrorist efforts? You really think he couldn't have gotten here if he wanted to? In Northern Minnesota alone there are 38 ponts to cross from Canada to the US that are not even manned. If thousands of illegals can cross from Mexico each month do you think a terrorist with vast monetary funds couldn't? In almost 5 years we haven't had another attack on our country. So liberals, keep whining, at least you can sleep safe tonight.

For all of you who show your appreciation to those of us in the military I and all service members thank you so very much. We don't sacrifice our time away from our families and serve in such terrible places for the money or glory. We serve because we know we make a difference against terrorism and that there are some that are appreciative of what we do. I serve for my son, my mom and dad, my other relatives, my friends and for those of you who know we are in this war for the right reasons. And yes, I serve even for those who don't support our commander in chief and therefore don't support us. I feel sorry for them in that they don't have a realistic idea of the threats in this world and are pacifists hoping the threats will just go away. No matter how many lives we lose and how this war turns out there are those who will never appreciate what was sacrificed and consider the justification of our mission. Above all, the "thanks" we get from some of you are what keeps us going. Just to hear a "thank you" from some of you out there means more to us than you could ever know.

Nuff respec'. I echo the sentiments above, and must express my gratitude for all that you, and other members of the armed forces do to keep us all safe.

I feel safe already. I'm sure now that their leader is gone, the insurgents are surrendering by the dozens as we speak. Within a few days Iraq will be transformed into a peaceful paradise.

I'll add my thanks. I tried to join the military right out of college, and in those days, they had enough officers, and weren't interested (talk about feeling like a loser).

We all owe you a lot. I have taken my kids to visit Arlington National Cemetery, then over to the National Archives to see the US Constitution so that they would understand this as well.

HOWEVER, please don't confuse lack of support for the POTUS as a sign of lack of support for the troops. I've been Republican all my life, and even I shake my head at some of the idiocy that comes out of Washington. That will never, however, cloud my view of the debt we owe our troops.

On the above-mentioned trip to Washington, I had exactly with this debate with a fellow in the Archives. While I was showing my kids the Constitution, and talking to them about what it means to us (freedom of religion, speech, etc), this guy comes over and starts railing about liberals this, liberals that, media this, media that, troops dieing in the field, we owe the POTUS loyalty, yack yack yack. I told him that I was having a private moment with my children, and teaching them what I wanted for them to learn at that moment. He could have his say when we were finished. He went on and on. I then told him the beauty of it was that he was free to say what he wanted, and I was free to tell him to shut the f&^$ up.

That's the way it goes in the land of the free.
