Mosquito ringtone

The article states that younger people can hear it while older adults cannot. Who can hear it?

I had that on an old Samsung 225 phone. Maybe it's different now but when I had it It was just a high pitched sound that didn't require anything special in the way of hearing.

My kids claim they can hear it (and it drives them crazy), but my wife and I can't hear it.

If I crank the vol. way up, I can hear it...

To these old ears it sounds like a 60 Hz hum.

Those HS kids won't be hearing much when they are my
age, after 35 years of Ipods and cellphones glued to or,
stuck in their ears.
