To these old ears it sounds like a 60 Hz hum.

Those HS kids won't be hearing much when they are my age, after 35 years of Ipods and cellphones glued to or, stuck in their ears. ...
I usually listen loud music in car but I can hear, so I guess my hearing is still OK at this age. The IPods will make kids ears half deaf in 10 years.

Too Funny! I barely heard it! The funny part is that my 5 year old daughter was on the couch watching TV minding her on business and said "Daddy, thats giving me a headache"!

The only sound worse than that was (and I'm dating myself here) listening to an album on a turntable with the volume CRANKED while wearing those old KOSS huge headphones and hearing the crackle/static between tracks REALLY LOUDLY .... it was like chewing on aluminum foil blech... ugh...

I hear it.....

It is not really that high pitched to me (maybe if I decided to blast it it would be annoying), spend some time in a server room and you'll hear much higher noises

Dang. I just downloaded it and the damn thing hurt my ears (our cats weren't very impressed with me either). I guess at 49 I should be thankful for that. Now if I could just read the paper without feeling like I'm playing the trombone I'd be happy
