I'm in. That would be a blast. I think you just volunteered yourself as coordinator!

My mom was terrified when I went to DC (90 minutes from home) to meet you guys, I'm sure she'd have no problem with me leaving the country this time! What about your Dad, L?

I'm in. Just say where and when. Tony Tact is past it now. Could you imagine, 43 years old, always daddy's little girl I guess. The best was when he called me at the meet to ask what "the element" was like. I was laughing my ass off.

We've done some diving there, on a biz meet trip,
though Cozumel "was" better diving, imo, pre-'Cane.

It's a helluva drive to Cancun, though.

We were there for our third visit in March this year. Because of the distance we tend to stay 14 nights at a time. Takes 11 hours to get there from the UK. We always stay at the Moon Palace Nizuc becuase in our opinion at least it is a superb resort.

We found it sad to see how much damage had been done, but also incredible how much the locals had achieved in getting the resort up and running within 8 weeks of the storm, and then kept going until it was almost all open by the time we visited (only two blocks still being finished off). If this storm had happened in the UK there would still be huge arguments and enquiries going on and the resort would not reopen for another two years, by which time everyone would have gone bust.

Kinda humbling to know how much effort was put in by the locals after the damage caused by Wilma. The Moon Palace had about 6,000 people (artisans and staff) working to get the resort up and running again so quickly.

We'll definitely go back for a fourth visit to the Moon Palace Nizuc in due course but are going to Thailand next year.
