Advice/Recommendation for Leather Repair
Hi everyone,
I just noticed today that I have 2 pretty bad scratches/tears on the front seat on the passenger side. Don't know how it happened, but something scuffed the seat and took off the top layer of the leather. Does anyone have advice on how to repair this or recommend any products that would make the scratches less noticeable? I've attached a couple of pics that show the scratches. I searched the board, but I only found one thread that touched on the subject. Thanks in advance. ![]()

A lot of car detailers use the Leatherique products to restore minor tears and blemishes on leather upholstery.

Not sure how to fix it but that seems like something from metal buttons on hip pocket of pants/jeans. I learned the hard way on one of my earlier cars.

Find shoe polish that matches the leather. It won't repair the tear or blemish, but it will blend it in and make in almost undetectable.

My advise is to leave it alone...

The only thing I can offer is this...I've used a black Sharpie permanent marker to fill or otherwise hide minor imperfections in black leather seats. Clean it well with soap and water, allow it to dry completely, apply your permanent Sharpie pen ink, being careful to fill only the spot of the scratch. Allow it to dry then reapply if needed. Then, I apply a coat of Lexol to protect everything. Might not be the cost-no-object solution, but it's worked for me! Good luck.
Mike
