Home on Mtn; shoulda taken a Boat...

Well, what a fun few days up in south Joisey seeing daKidz and
my G Daughter's 3rd B'day party!

Hot as hell and rained most of the way up; rained every freaking day I was there...(indoor birthday parties with an add'l dozen toddlers/babies are really fun if one is deaf, full of amphetamines and a former nanny. )

Rain? Jeeshh H Murphy, I shoulda brought UCrew's or YellowJacket's boat:

Today I drove through some of the deepest ponded roads on the trip back, that I've ever seen, outside of a Hurricane. What a fun fookin ride home that was.

The Vette ran like a top, hauled azz when I needed to, and stuck like glue even as I glided across thousands of yards of newly formed lakes on the interstates.
Overall mpg was an outstanding 29.9, (deduced by miles divided by gals; OBC is a tad optimistic), for 1300 miles of hauling azz and some around town stuff. The OBC showed 31 & change on one leg coming home today, for a 400+ mile portion. Nothing like having 5th gear OD and 6th gear Way OD!

NEway, some pics of the gauges, head up display and the "rode hard, literally put away wet" interstate monster. Had 10 mins of only minor downpours, so I snapped some off, while motoring down 1-81, aka theVA Cops Pick Off Alley, .

Pics of my darling G Daughter and my knucklehead Kidz tomorrow...I know ya'll can hardly wait, .

Go to go, good to be back. It will be even better when theCEO gets back from her 10 day French Alps/Fabric Art/Quilt show trip on Wed.

Seems like a fun trip and a good time MD! The HUD is damn cool indeed.

1,700 rpm at 80mph is nuts, i'd be doing at least 4,000 in my car at that speed .

Nice pics! Like the head-up display. daFridge provides a nice background to vette.

Unbelievable MPG in the 'vette, MD!! Great pics, especially of the cars in the driveway. Makes me want to make another trek up to the mountain retreat soon

Thanks, Men!
The HUD deal is very cool...once you have it, it's hard to go back to staring at the gauges. GM copped it from Hughes Aerospace when they owned them for awhile; I think it was a dumbed down version from the
jet fighter deal.

The Vette HUD allows for some customization: mine shows speed, rpms shift pt as in Red Line, and oil pressure, (those lil' boxes on side next to oil lamp.) But, other data can be put in lieu of some of the stuff.

The OBC is very, very well done: it's the pixel read out that shows 31 mpg in that pic.
I can punch up several menus with families of data readouts in that pixel display area, eg:
-Trip: full odo, trip A & B odo, avg speed, trip ET, oil life "quality".
-Fuel: mpg since reset, instant mpg, and range at current usage.
-Gauges: oil press., oil temp, coolant temp, batt volts, front tire press. L & R, rear tire press L & R, (real time), etc.

Metric or English...

Pretty well done and informative for a Chebby, imo.

Thanks for looking!
