So I took the wife to a chick flick
So anyways, if anyone has seen the previews, there is no mistaking of this movie for anything else but a chick flick, but I wasn't quite prepared the turnout that I witnessed. In an filled auditorium seating approximately 200, I'd say the female to male ratio must have been 4-1. It must have been girls night out, because the women were showing up groups of 4,5, and 6. Definitely the biggest chick flick since Mel Gibson got in touch with his feminine side in "What Women Want". It was an okay movie, nothing great, nothing that's going to win any awards (sorry, Meryl), but a nice change from the psycho-drama, superhero, sci-fi movies we've seen recently. It's the usual schlocky, woman has to make a choice between career and BF (same as aforementioned "WWW") in a different wrapper. Meryl Streep, who now makes her money playing the dominating matronly &itch, does so to perfection. Stanley Tucci does a fine job of his role as Anne's mentor (similar to his role in Maid In Manhattan), and Adrian Grenier makes the jump from Entourage to the big screen although he's still playing his Vince Chase character in this movie. As for Anne Hathaway, aside from the previews, I never knew who she was until this evening. What a total babe (as in every which way possible total). Hopefully, she can act also, however, this movie didn't exactly test her thespian skills. But she certainly has screen persona. I think she may become the next "it" girl, but she's going to need some Keira Knightley type roles to get to the next level. But she did force a revision on my current hotties list, enough to displace everyone except Selma who has held the #1 spot since Desperado. So all in all, quite a nice evening. I now have my reason to watch Brokeback Mountain - Anne Hathaway is in it. Some Anne Hathaway eye candy: LINK (NWS) |

If you now like Anne Hathaway and haven't seen her in "Havoc" then go rent the DVD.

You are still holding your head up high (and manhood intact) after the coerced chick-flick viewing!:Good man and husband.
I just cannot do it. Didn't you liked it a bit though? Ann Hathaway has the same name as the William Shakespeare's wife. Yes, I googled it. She's a straight to video kid/chick-flick specialist ie Pricess Diary who's trying to break out of her mold. She is a babe but I will take Jessica Alba or Kate Beckinsale over her eveytime. It appears that Blonde is out Brunette is in.I love great ethnic real Mexican tacos, no sour cream, and nothing cures hangover better than Sunday menudo brunch. I'll definately try the taco stand next time I am in LA.
