Infiniti FX45..? (or keep current 4.6!)..?

Damn sales guy...!
Took my 03' 4.6I to get serviced on friday night, ran into my sales guy, told me about a new trade in they got, 05 FX45 with 20K miles. He said, take it and bring back on monday, it wasnt on the system yet, i said, why not, now im in trouble..! damn, that is a nice ride, like the DVD system, the smart key, definately the sound, that thing purrs like a kitty, warranty is longer, plus im getting ready to drop about $2800.00 (tires and extended service agreement) on 4.6I.
any previous experiences, tips, pointers, both pro/against switching to FX45..?

Ever wonder why it was traded in in the first place?

I personally think the FX35/FX45 are very capable vehicles, in fact, I like the entire Infiniti line. But I would never buy one unless it was a CPO model at a wholesale price and all I was looking for was basic transportation. The problem with every Japanese car is low resale value (with the exception of certain Lexus models and the Japanese cult cars).
If you buy an FX, the first time you encounter a 4.6is or 4.8is on the highway, you'll feel the regret because you'll know that your FX is nothing special. But if you're looking to move up to a new vehicle, and simply get from Point A to Point B, then maybe it's a good deal.

Personally, if I were to buy an FX, I'd get an FX35. The after market is gigantic for the V6 compared to the V8. If you're going to build a one of a kind FX, many of the aftermarket parts from the 350Z and G35 will fit on an FX35.

B-line here owned a FX45 for a few months and he had to sell it as he could not tolerate it any more. He moved from X5 to FX45 to X5 4.8. You can search his several posts on his experience. here's one.

Is this the one that looks like a beaver with big tires? Maybe see what the other BMW dealers will do to keep you in the family.

The FX looks like a shoe... But it handles close to the X and can out run it as well...
