Vinny,
Agree with the rest of the V1 user....$100 more is worth the "ARROWS" and Boogey counter....Don't you want to know if the cop is behind you or in front of you.....I was saved from a ticket because a CHP on bike had his radar on and started to tag people from behind about 1 mile away....slowed down the M3 to 65 mph and by the time he caught up with us, I was well within the speed limits!

The V1 told me that there was a faint Ka signal from behind....About 1-2 min later, the Ka signal got stronger from behind and lo & behold, CHP on a BMW bike.....I was cruising a 80 mph and way ahead of the pack until I got the signal and then blended in with the traffic.
Also, the Boogey counter is useful because they could have one cop on the side and you past them and there could be another one 1/2-1 mile later and the Boogey counter will tell if there are more than 1 distinct radar signal.
The V1 has built-in POP and covers all bands of POP and V1 is upgradeable as well. Do what you want with your $300-$400, but my advice....spend the extra $100 and get the best radar detector IMHO hands down.

My reasons for getting the Passport.
1. Over $100 cheaper
2. MUCH fewer false alerts
3. POP (instant-on) enabled
4. Auto-mute- just too damn annoying with the V1.
5. Much sleeker / lower-profile
6. Both have similar range
7. In my eyes, arrows don't do jack. You'll know where the cop is...big deal. Bottom line- you have to slow down.
8. Good user interface with the Passport
9. Better display, imo.
The V1 was a detector that was good back in the day. It's relatively unchanged from the beginning of the previous decade..
