Don't you think the 545/E500 are more the sort of car for later years? You know, when you've got kids, family etc and need the space?
The E500 is a surprisingly nice car to drive in, and I would not hesitate to choose it over a current 5 series, although I'm betting you would end up trading the older 5 series in for something more current. From your previous posts, I agree with the other comments, your choice...... but a 330 sounds like you.
