Maybe the best answer is to keep your dog in the house when not supervised. Especially at night (coyotes tend to hunt by night).

Yeah I'd be fine with that except the coyote has gotten into our garage and throughout the backyards and i've heard people's animals get killed, its just disgusting, as for the shooting, I can shoot and aim, I have had target practice, I'd rather have someone do it but noone will.

Geesh, & I can't even kill a spider ....

I have 2 cats & one likes to roam outside during the daytime ONLY. I see the little coyotes at night - yes it's awful that they hurt & kill other animals, but pets should not be allowed out at night alone.

I recommend getting a road runner and things will work out. Somehow that pesky coyote will get his in the end.

Seriously, don't go shooting it. It is illegal to discharge a firearm where you live. You could also be charged with negligent discharge of a firearm. Not worth it. Just keep your dog/animals inside. I would bet that once it figures out there is no food to be had it will move on. If that fails, call the ACME Corporation and order some anvils, dynamite, and maybe a catapult. Good luck!

Have you called your municiple animal control or wildlife/fish/game dept?

If you are worried about your chihuahua you can douse him in tobasco sauce. I hear coyotes don't like spicy food.
