cash back cards?

Any advice on cash back cards.. the research i've done so far is a little disappointing. for instance the mbna 1% cash back is only on retail purchases so if u buy say tires for instance on line then not included.. the Discover cash back card is only good for the first $1500 annually then the cash back drops to .25%

American Express. Been using it last couple of years. Check out their Blue Cash Back card.

I have been happier with my Delta SkyMiles American Express. I get 2 SkyMiles for every dollar spent, regardless of where the dollars are spent. Lots of other perks, too.

Nice to be able to fly first class for free off of the money you spend, anyway.

I've always felt the cash-back deals were just "feel-good" BS. They charge you a higher rate up front to make up for the money they 'return' to you later.

What rates are the cash-back cards you've looked at charging and why not just go for a lower percentage rate card?

I considered the "cash back" cards a few years ago and decided to go with the Citibank American Airlines Frequent Flyer Card. 1 mile for every $1 spent. I can't remember the last time i paid for a plane ticket or an upgrade. I use the card for basically everything including business expenses and pay it off every month. It works for me, YMMV.

I think i'm gonna look into this one. Paying every card off at the end of the month is a must nut a question. Besides flight miles what other perks are there and how many miles before you get a ticket??

American is 25,000 miles, no other perks that I use besides extended warranty and no annual fee. the interest rate is high, but i dont' care, i never carry a balance.

I use my card for business expenses too, so that is a big reason why I can get a few tickets/upgrades a year.
