My 2006 M Coupe is at the VDC!

I'm psyched...My brand new M Coupe is in town (literally) as the VDC is about 30 minutes from my house which means the car should be at my dealer by the weekend.

I ordered a 2006 M Coupe with ever single option. Extended leather, navigation, premium package, etc, etc...Imola Red/Black leather with Carbon Fiber trim.

I'll post pictures soon...Along with my Imola/Black 3.0 liter 6 speed X5 that I picked up two months ago...It is in "mod-limbo" which is why I've been slow to post pictures.

Here's the Owners Circle Screen Shot:

I'm sure you are excited. I think the color combo is classic. Imola red is my 2nd favorite color behind the Estroil blue. Can't wait to see pics.

What kind of deal did you get. The used 2001-2002 are going for $28k-$35k with 47k-55k miles.

Thanks Kevin...I missed a call from the dealer last night. It's very possible the car is already at the dealer since the website is usually behind by a couple of days I'll post pictures soon!

I really loved the 01-02 M Coupe's...And I've owned more than a few. Thankfully, I never had one with the rear subframe cracking. At the end of the day, they were, pound-for-pound the most fun I've had driving outside of a go-cart

inlacal,
How do you like your man trans on your X? Isn't it awesome? Mine is 4 months old now with 7400 miles and with the man trans it's absolutely fun to drive. I wish BMW would offer the man trans with the 4.8 but for whatever reason they don't. Having been stationed in Germany and back a bunch of times it's funny how over there almost every car has a man trans but here in the states almost all cars have the slush boxes. Isn't Europe considered to be home of the best drivers in the world? Is it a coincidence that Europe=man trans & the best drivers?

I have been holding-back on posting these pics since I got the car in April...It just went over 1,000 miles yesterday, but I have so many mod's/upgrades going into it, that I wanted to post the pictures when it was complete. That being said, here are a couple of exterior shots of my 6 speed 3.0 with special-ordered Imola Red (on black).

BEFORE....

Not necessarily 'after' because it is still a work in progress...

Foremost, I like your SR-71 pic..What a remarkable aircraft. What an unmitigated shame it isn't still in service...I digress.

I LOVE the 6 speed. I also love the fact that despite manufacturers figures, I get crazy gas mileage (with proof): 24-27mpg on the highway...All from a 5,000 lb truck.

The 6 speed pedal modulation took some getting use to, but now I've very use to it.

I wonder if you use the BMW Individual Program in Europe and get a 4.8is with a manual transmission?

All the BMW's I've ever owned (except for an errant 850i and my wife's current 04 X5) have had a manual transmission. I haven't made the jump to SMG and I'm not sure if/when I will.

P.S. Going back to the SR-71...All of my license plates have a variation of Lockheed Skunkworks: SCUNK WX SKNKWXS SKUNK WX SKNKWKX et al...

P.P.S. Here's a picture of the interior before I removed the stock shift knob in place of a lighted shift knob which, by the way, took me forever to find because all of the six speed ones come with the boot which I did not need. In the end, I sourced one from a euro e36 M3...
