I'm Freakin Sick of Spam...

I get hundreds per day. As I ranted before, "something" has changed
at our ISP/Wireless provider down the Mtn, in our lil'town: I suspect
our provider's servers, etc., are like Swiss cheese, in terms of
"blocking" or "security".

NEway, a new twist on a batch I got today: someone or some "bot"
has gone to considerable length to address their fookin stupid mortgage
spam, to me:

They have my address, tele#, etc., listed like a formal biz letter.
I realize this info isn't hard to dig on the web, but someone did some
digging to get that info and mail merge into a freakin spam.

We haven't had a mort since '95, but I get 30+ mort app/mort re-fis
a day from the same half a dozen idiots.

My Daughter runs a mort. office and if I wanted a freakin mort., she'd
be my first, last and only pick.

I wish I could send a torrent of crap back to these idiots. In my
low tech view, Spam will plug up the freakin net, at this pace.

Use your spam filter.

Just setting up a few filters with key words like "mortgage", "rolex", "viagara", and "invest" is enough to get rid of a large amount of spam.

plus, every time one of these dbag institutions sends you another "pre-approved" credit card app, they've checked your credit first, and we all know that every time your file is accessed it drops your rating, so opting out is a good thing.

The amount of spam on Hotmail has risen dramatically in the last couple of weeks. I went from maybe a half dozen to close to three dozen.

Hmmmm.....Comcast must be doing something right, I rarely get any spam anymore. I might get a couple a week, all I do is report as spam (2 mouse clicks) and I'm done.

Yup, everyone always used to bash AOL, but recently they have done a great job eliminating spam. At most I get one or two spam emails per day.

Thanks for that opt-out deal: I did it...hope it slows it down.

And, thanks for the suggestions, All...I use Norton and a lot of
the spam does get shunted off to the spam folder. But, the stock
pumpers and the endless mortgage offer idiots are getting very
creative and their use of headers, etc. is allowing for a lot
to get "passed over" by my Norton.

I also comb through my Spam folder daily, to make sure legit
stuff didn't get tossed there.

The CanSpamAct and all the other arm waving crap is just that:
so much bs; it has slowed or, reduced nothing.

I've even filled out a few "offers" with jive names and info, basically
filling in the lines with a version of "go fook yourself" jes' to give
the 8 buck an hr gum snapper more work.

We used the Don't Call Registry 2 yrs ago and the telephone
calls simply Stopped! I wish there was a similar thing for this
spam crap.

I sometimes read the Nigerian Sob Story Millions stuff or the
newer International Lotto Winner crap for fun, and even send
them on occasion, a basic go Fook Yourself email reply just to
make myself feel better.

I would mow grass at our club before I would sit around doing
bot crap and mail merge, to send out hot stock picks or Get A
Woody pills spam or...etc.

I'll shut up about this, for awhile.
