Wow! Good necropost Michelle!

Well, we're at over 64,000 members. Still at if 5 years later. The name change was unforeseen. Who would have thought BMW would bully us into changing the name? (Just in case any newer members didn't know this place used to be called X5 world . com (spaces intentional) but some nasty folks at BMW, or their hired gun law firm, decided that they own the number/letter combination X5 and possibly the word "world". Thus, we changed to xoutpost.com.

Still soldiering on with the X3, partly because the whole world has moved towards eco-mentalism and thus a little less driving excitement in car designs. The fact that it's been reliable helps too, although any repairs that do crop up are quite expensive.

I also think the switch (for me) to the metric system was a good move. If the rest of the country could realise its folly then we'd all be better off.

I am not sure whether I am going to keep my E61 or get a 2012 335, on this is sure is that I won't be getting a X since I already have one SUV.
