More thoughts on new cars..

So I've been doing a little more thinking about a new car.
So here's what I'm looking at now. All this is pre-test driving, mind you.
In no particular order:
1) 2006 Mini Cooper S
2) 2006 330xi or 2007 335xi, depending when I get the car..
3) 2007 328xi coupe or 335i coupe

I was so set on a Mini. Then I thought about it. It's SO small. And the interior isn't very nice. It's still a great car, but I feel it would be kind of a step down from a 330xi. Also, I drove around the BMW dealer the other day.. And I saw again how beautiful the E90 looks in person. THEN, I started thinking some more. Why not look at the new coupe? It's gorgeous.. And I don't NEED the space of the sedan. I mean I like 4 doors, but the coupe has enough room. It's not as small as a Mini. Also, at least around here, a 3-series coupe is more of a rare sight than a sedan. Then I looked more at the new coupe, and they're coming out with an AWD version. That would please the parents.. I know I'm kind of rambling here, but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Why don't you actually test the cars???

Basically it seems like what you want right now is more superficial than anything.

All you have stated you need for sure is AWD. Nothing else, but somewhat luxury. You have cars ranging from $20k to $50 fully loaded on what you have posted. If you actually test the cars, I'm sure you would have a better idea because what anyone else thinks is purely subjective. A $30k gap is a pretty big gap.

You are pretty lucky to have a 3 series with AWD, it's basically a entry level luxury car. I think you already have what you need. It's a matter of what you want now...

Just be honest, and be realistic with what you really need. Not what you want, because options add up. Sometimes its not about the cool factor, because at the end of the day its really just a means of transportaton.

If you actually been in a Mini, it's not that small at all... Since you don't need the space at all...

Secondly, a 3 series coupe with AWD will most likely be around $55k...

1) Note how I said this was a pre-test driving post.
2) I'm not asking for peoples opinions on how they drive. I'm looking for opinions on the cars.
3) I know I'm lucky to have my car. When did I say I wasn't?
4) I have a price limit, and I've looked at the options I can get within that price limit.
5) I'm not necessarily looking for a "cool" car. I just want one that fits me, and one that I'll enjoy driving.

What one person thinks about a car is clearly subjective to their own opinon. Period.

Thats exactly what I'm looking for. Opinions. I already have my own opinions on these cars. I like to see what others think of them.

Fine.

Here's my opinon on the cars you listed in this thread...

Mini: Fun to drive, torquey but still a 4 banger and won't be able to run with anything (race wise)...

330Xi: Gets old after a while...

Check out these cars:
Lexus IS AWD: impressive performance that I wouldn't think possible
Infiniti G35X: getting outdated compared to intial release, update coming soon though
Mercedes C Class 4 Matic: its a mercedes, it will help with some chicks.
Audi A3 AWD: test it... a solid car with 4 doors.
Audi S4 2004 and up...: doesn't handle as well as you would think for a S model
Subaru STI: no sum needed
Lancer Evo VIII: above
BMW 5 Series XI: more room than the 3 but doesn't handle as well either...
VW R32: just like a A3 but only 2 doors
VW Beetle: very similar to the Cooper in performance... turbo...

At the end of the day, does other peoples opinons really matter that much to you? If everyone on here tells you that the 3 series sucks, will you listen?

Good God. I'm just trying to see what other people think of these cars. Why does that bother you so much?

I responded with my opinons. I just asked a simple question. It's a good question. It will help you decide on a car...

In response to your question, if everyone here told me a 330 sucked, I'd take their opinions into consideration, test drive the car, and see for myself. Am I not supposed to take peoples' opinions into consideration at all? What if I was shopping for a new SUV. Say I was looking at an X5, Range Rover, and a Mercedes GL. I went onto a car forum and asked people their opinions on the car. Everyone tells me the Range Rover is one of the most unreliable cars ever. Should I just ignore them, and buy one anyway, purely because I like the car? No. The whole point of a forum like this is so we can, among other things, share our opinions on cars and help the forum members when they're getting ready to buy a new car. I don't see why you're making such a huge deal over the fact that I want to know what other people think of the cars I'm considering.
