Good movies

I watched a rented DVD movie with my son yesterday, “Air Force One” with Harrison Ford. I really liked the fact that this was a “good vs. evil” flick, in which one tough guy has to do what he thinks is right, against tough odds, risking himself to save others. In other words, a modern cowboy movie.

Does anyone want to add to my list of “training videos” for my adolescent son?

1. Air Force One
2. Die Hard (first one)
3. Ten Commandments (Charlton Heston!!!)
4.

Saving Private Ryan - the first WWII movie that didn't glorify that war. Each one of the rescuers depicts a different male personality, it would be surprising if someone didn't see themselves in that movie. Unlike all of the John Wayne-type WW2 movies that are out there, SPR show's the war more realistically, more fact than love affair. Get the Band of Brothers Box set too while you're at it.... same concept.

When you say adolescent what do you mean? If you have a son who is an adolescent i would not reccommend a movie like Die Hard or anything like that. I believe i would find entertainment that trains a young one to build good values and Die Hard IMHO would not be on my list. What do i reccommend? Something along the line of cars, or Remember the Titans. A movie that prompts family discussions about upbuilding topics that instill good values.

BTW if your considering something of a more adult theme try this. A good lesson about what greed and dishonesty will do. Watch it yourself first.

A Murder of Crows (1999) (V)

After a lawyer gets disbared, he goes off to write a book about his experience. He meets a man who lets him read his manuscript. The man dies and the lawyer passes the book off as his. Just when the book becomes a big success. He gets arrested for the true life murders of the five lawyers in his book. He then finds himself, trying to prove that he is innocent of the murders.

That was a great flick.... caught it by accident a few years ago on HBO... Cuba Gooding was actually good in it
