Exclamation Dell Recalls 4.1 Million Laptop Batteries!

Just a heads-up to any Dell laptop owners here.

Dell has recalled 4.1 million laptop batteries. All batteries were made by Sony, or had the cells made by Sony regardless of being branded as Dell batteries.

These batteries were and are in use across their lineup of Inspiron, Latitude and Precision laptops (including XPS).

http://www.dell.com/content/topics/g...us&l=en&s=corp

To check if your battery or batteries are on the affected list, visit www.dellbatteryprogram.com.

That site will not go live until 2AM Eastern Time though. Prepare the serial numbers of your batteries - the site will tell you the truth instantly.

Darn! My laptop model was on the list, but not my particular battery. I was hoping to get a new battery for free.

Yes! SCORE!!!

My 6-cell media bay battery is not affected. However my primary 4-cell internal battery qualifies for a replacement!

Furthermore, there's a way to check the battery's health using the external button with 5 LEDs. My primary battery flashed 2 out of 5 LEDs, meaning it's 40% worn out. And now I get brand new one free!!!

This is a good moment in life!
