Angry Gas $$$

What's up everyone?!?!

I live in NJ and the gas prices here are ridiculous (as is everywhere else) but I've noticed that a lot of gas stations (I normally us BP) have lowered the price per gallon on their Premium gasoline. Prices around here have gone from about $3.30 down to around $3.15. This has been happening for about 3 weeks or so but there is one station that has yet to move their prices for over a month. This station is only 5 minutes away from and it's a huge convenience when I have to fill up my tank.

My question is this...who or where can I go to and complain about this one gas station not lowering their prices when every where is has lowered their prices by .15 cents? I hate driving 2 miles to fill up my tank when I could just drive 5 minutes. I'm not the first person complaining about this particular station.

Thanks everyone!!!!

Um, don't buy gas there. There is no consumer group you can go to as vehicle fuel is not a regulated commodity. The only thing you can do is not purchase from that seller and encourage others to avoid them.

You can also contact local news broadcasts and highlight this seller. Usually a little 'public' heat and they will fall in line. Nobody likes bad pub.

I thought NJ had one of the cheaper gas prices in the nation? In MD esp. with the ethanol-mixed stations, premum often commands a 25-35 cent premium over regular gas, easily costing over $3.35 in my area. That's why I usually dont drive the X3.......

Your Joking right? Um don't get gas there, those stations are independent owned and can do as they please and we're WAY more expensive here!

After Katrina, the gov't set up a sort of watch-dog group to prevent price gouging (sp?). I am not sure if they are still around but that is an option. But with that beings said, I remember the last time anyone was actually charged was back in the 20's I think on selling corn for too much (and they got off.) I agree with Wagner, dont buy gas there.

The station here next to the Watergate is always at least 20-30 cents more than the entire area. Guess when Condi has to fill up she doesnt want to go far. HA

In NJ it actually is regulated, but a station not lowering their price does not violate the regulations. I believe the regulations set a maximum percentage that a station can either raise or lower their price within the time period of a week. This is to prevent gouging in the case of a crisis.

Call the fox 5 problem solvers LOL, last summer there was a gas station charging $5.00/Gallon for premium right before you go on the 59th Street Bridge in Queens and Fox 5 came in to ask them why those prices were so high; 2 hours later it was back to normal which was like $3.85 - $4.00
