ZO6 gets no love :(

http://www.cnn.com/2006/AUTOS/08/30/...ars/index.html

Personally, I would take the ZO6 over the 911.

Well no wonder - how can you pay $77000 for a Chevrolet?!

You could get an M Coupe instead and the interior plastics won't even come apart in 1 year!

easy there big guy.... MY '04 Z06 has had ZERO problems since I bought it. I wish I could have said that about my '01 X and '04 X which were both back in the dealership with problems within 2 weeks of driving them off of the lot. Let's look at all of the window regulators problems that X's have... how about CV boots... how about oil pan sensor switches... how about.... you get the picture. Not so good for a $70k luxury SUV huh?

Regarding why the Z came in 2nd out of 14 cars is because Consumer Reports based the scoring heavily on safety and what the bumpers look like after a 5mph crash, trust me, no one who owns a Z is worried about whether or nto there is a child seat tie down in the passenger seat...
Just for the record, the Viper finished ~ 12th of 14.

It's consumer reports, they skew the tests towards safety and what the bumpers look like after a 5mph crash... besides, the Z came in what? 2nd? I'ld still take it over the 911 (and that's not because I don't fit in a 911 either )

I know my 996 had its own interior issues, my E46 M3 had its trim fall off, my X5 has had its window regulators replaced, my 323Ci burned through its seats, My 350Z had tire feathering and rattled at 65mph....

The only ride I have ever owned that had ZERO issues was my 1997 Prelude. And that car ran fine even after I turbo'd and NOS it. That vehicle was well put together. As I said, for $77K I would love a ZO6.

Oh as for a M, I wouldn't put that near the same class as a ZO6 IMO.

The only car I have had that I felt was made like a tank was a Mercedes. But unfortunately, after looking at the new ones recently, I think they have gotten cheaper as well.
