Angry OK - who invited Ernesto?

OK, who invted Ernesto to their Labor Day bash? Saturday, Labor day weekend. High of only 65 degrees, warnings for 60 mph wind gusts, heavy rain and flash flood warnings. It's just not right. It's not supposed to end this way.

On a serious note, how did all our friends to the South fair out? It looks like NC got hammered.

Ernesto made its way to Maryland yesterday and should be gone by this afternoon. We lost our power around 7:30 last night. It came back on around 10:00, but continued to go out and come back on many times throughout the night. We didn't have any hard downpours; just lots of steady rain, but I'm sure there will be a lot of flash flooding. The winds were the worst part, but they didn't get too bad, either. The temperature didn't go above 63F all day yesterday. Good luck up there, L!

Maybe we can invite Ernesto over hear to have mojitos with us. We can use some rain. People with major thigh rub are starting fires.

We are now celebrating Ernesto's leaving the Carolinas. Thankfully, Charlotte just got rain, which we needed, anyway.

By the way, 85, sunny and low humidity for the Labor Day weekend. (sorry, Laura... couldn't help myself.)

We dodged the wrath, here in the Mtns: almost no wind,
(which is rare even on a nice day), but we had rain, rain
and more rain, from Wed afternoon through Friday eve: my
neighbor's rain gauge showed almost a foot in that period.

We really didn't need the rain, either.

Lost power a few times, which is SOP, but our Generac
generator runs the joint, like a charm.

Batten down the freakin hatches up there in NJ/NY and
try some Indoor Activities this long weekend.

In my area, the power to my house flickered a couple times but never really went out. A few trees were down (thankfully, not ours) and leaves blown everywhere. However, my school lost power at 12 and never got it on until 2:30. To make matters worse, the fire alarm went off, which forced us all into the wind and rain for about 30 minutes (with many of us unable to get our umbrellas). I wouldn't be surprised if 100 kids called in sick with pneumonia on Tues.

It was all cold and raw and nasty . I had to use heated seats (lowest setting) to keep warm when getting into the car outta the rain.

Sorry to hear about Ernesto out there in your neck of the woods. Hope everything turn out ok for all of you. The sun is shining here in the West Coast, when are you moving out here

On another weather front, Hurricane John is hitting Cabos. They finally named something after me

Sorry...old wive's tale. Getting cold and wet doesn't cause a "cold", in spite of the traditional name.
