The only thing I see there for 1,399 is a a 42 inch. The 50 inch is 1,799.

never mind... I see the $400 dollar rebate there now... Sorry.

Nice price, but they are "Factory Renewed," which means "used," right? These are returned TVs that the company refurbishes, correct?

Juan

Factory renewed=Customer used return for some problem and sent back to factory. I have heard that sometime the factory renewed have newer firmware than the ones on showroom for same models.
Rick, How is the unit you got?

Okay, I was all ready to get a plasma and now 1080p is all the rage (of course, only once Blu-Ray or HD-DVD gets their act together). I know that Sony has LCDs (rear projection & flat panel) that is true 1080p. There is only one Pioneer plasma (a 50" so far, Pro-HD1) that has true 1080p (not something that upconverts). So what is the verdict with 1080p?

Doc,
Dunno about the verdict or "projection", (no pun),
but my Sony,NoBaloney 60" LCoS 1080 kicks serious
azz, when it has a top notch signal/source.

Real HDTV, eg HBO, DiscoveryHD, HDNet, et al, are
simply breath taking. The 720 stuff isn't bad, either.
The "regular feeds" look like large, sharp, crap.
My 2cts.

If you want 1080p, I would go with Pioneer Pro-HD1. Best 1080p out there. Pioneer is the market leader in plasma flat panels. Their 1130 is also a nice plasma.

So far so good...there was not a mark on it, if not for the label I would have though it to be brand new, also not in every case is it a customer gets home and sends it back, some times at the store they notice a problem, and also while going through final quality checks they get sent back through the supply chain.

I was watching discovery HD tonight...it is amazing what crap you will watch just because it is in HD. Hey for the money it was a steal....I have had alot of good luck with referbs...I have a 56 inch Sony rear projection that I brought referbed back in 99 and had not one problem with that either. I have had 3 MP3s that were referbs that work perfectly, I am all bout getting good value.....er but then again...I did dump $25k in that Harley....I should say getting good value with the Benjamins I got left from the other toys!
