Why We Love to Hate Cell Phone companies

Cell phone companies were the subject of more complaints than such perennially unpopular businesses as car dealerships, hotels, retail outlets, and insurance companies, BBB statistics show.

"The Biggest Gripe"

The Biggest Gripe
Wireless industry experts including J.D. Power and Associates' Parsons say that much of the frustration experienced by Cingular, AT&T Wireless, Sprint, and Nextel customers stems from the complexities involved in merging the technologies and billing processes of huge networks.

I can attest to this first hand. I went to a Sprint/Nextel store last week to halp a friend migrate her service from Nextel to Sprint in order to get one of their newer BT phones. It was a nightmare to say the least. The salesperson in the store apologized for their "transition" problems and said that it would probably be 2 years before all the billing, migration issues were all ironed out. I wonder how Sprint Corporate would feel if they knew that their sales personnel were telling people the 2 year story?

They should be happy that their employees are being honest with their customers... it's the exception rather than the rule these days.
