Angry About damn time!

After a night of about 25 e-mails and several calls to Umnitza, and some between various combinations of: Me, FedEx, Umnitza, AmEx, and my mom (who's in NYC which makes things more challenging), the lights are FINALLY on their way. Hopefully. I've got a new tracking number issued and they're due to arrive sometime around 10:30 AM on Friday. All I can say is ABOUT F-ING TIME! I ordered them a month and a day ago. The people running Umnitza don't know the first thing about customer service, and their company seems to be built on lies and shifting the blame... Filing a fraud claim with American Express seemed to catch their attention. It was a nightmare, hopefully it will be worth it. I think the "cherry on top of this sundae" was this little gem of an e-mail I recieved once he found out I'm 16... I'm not going to post it, but the gist of it was that I'm 16 and I should just go listen to my mommy (because at this point my mom was working with him because I was so tired and burnt out from trying to get through to these people that I couldn't like.. talk)...

His reasons that the lights were delayed are/were: The computer never gave him the order, he lost the order number, he was in Taiwan... There were a few others... Usually a month after a customer orders something that was supposed to arrive 4 days after he ordered it, the company is scrambling to get it to them, not making more excuses... Oh well...

Avoid Umnitza like the f-ing plague..

Well, at least it looks like you'll finally be getting your lights. Congrats. Post pics when you install them.

Yeah, I've decided to just forget what happened.. What's done is done. It took them forever, but as long as they work I think they'll be worth it. I'm going to install them Friday night, and I'll post pics ASAP.

I sure hope those lights are friggin' awesome and have added cool features like kung fu grip because the crap you had to deal with is NOT worth it. If I were you I wouldn't consider it "worth it". Instead, consider yourself lucky you actually got them. It's like heaping praise on someone for obeying the law or for making an honest living. Why praise someone for doing exactly as they are supposed to? The fact that they screwed you over like that and King just goes to show that it wasn't an honest mistake or a unique occurence. They are just a shoddy company.

I hope no one spoke too soon because you still don't actually have them in your hot little hands and you have no idea if they are what you expected/ordered and you don't know if they'll work as advertised. Stand by....

Unhappy You Crazay o' Somethin'???

There is NO WAY I would put those lights on my X after all that has happened. That's like eating a meal after you have sent it back to the kitchen twice and called the waiter and chef complete as---les .

At the very least they were surely not showing you the love and probably didn't when they constructed the lights. What if the lights short your harness or switch. Do you think these guys are going to go out of their way to assist or replace the damage??? NOT.

I would request OEM (untouched) lights, like the ones you sent and if I didn't get satisfaction have AMEX do their thing.

Now that I have vented ... if these guys do not ship said lights or provide tracking info, let me know and I will pay them a visit as they are local.

.

I would have just cancelled the order and transaction with AMEX. Enough is enough. Does not appear that are going to change anytime soon.

Joel you are not out of the hole yet buddy....the lights still have to arrive and WORK....that will be another challenge in and of itself. Lets hope to god that they are in good condition and that they are not damaged upon arrival.

Having just sold a set of speakers and shipped them via UPS, I know very well what UPS/FedEx can do to boxes....

Between you and King, geeze... That's one heck of a saga, C.J., and I do hope things work out for you in that regard.

Put me in the camp with those who would have cancelled and avoided the hassle. Standing alone, your time is valuable, and has certainly been wasted. I'd be more than hesitant to install them, too. If the quality of their product is anything like their customer service, you have a valid source of concern. Keep your fingers crossed that you actually receive exactly what you paid for, and that you never have to return those lights for repair.

Receipt of a tracking number is one thing; receipt of the product is another. Don't hold your breath. If they're not in your hot little hands by Friday, cancel.

Good luck, and keep us posted.
