I grew up in Huntington Beach and worked summers at the Crab Cooker in Newport. Guess it depends where you live in NB. I lived in Corona del Mar for about 6 years.

Yes, China Bistro#1 is not the same owner. Eric (the chef) sold China Bistro#1 and bought May Garden in Costa Mesa which is on Bristol. Same food, great chef, bigger restaurant. So if you want the same food, go to May Garden and all will be well. We all should go there next time!

Is Javier's and Hapi Sushi still around? I worked in Laguna Hills from 88 to 96 and frequented these two places frequently, along with Las Brisas which I know is still there.

Las Brisas is still around. Never been to Hapi Sushi & don't know. Javier's is still there and they expanded and opened a 2nd restaurant at the Irvine Spectrum Entertainment Complex which has expanded to 3 times the amount of store vs. when it opened. Irvine Spectrum now has Nordstrom as well and many more restuarnats, shops, etc.

I love Javier's! Las Brisas still has the great view!
