Attention gamers: Good deal on mouse-keyboard combo

Buy.com has the Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard and G7 Gaming Mouse together for $80 after a $50 rebate. These are Logitech's top-of-the-line PC gaming peripherals. The mouse and keyboard seperately costs about $70 apiece. (See Amazon Prices) Supposedly stock is limited. I just ordered mine. Free shipping but sales tax in CA.

First of all, this is great deal indeed!

However I would like to point out that both these products are actually far from the best out there.

For around 3 months I owned this exact same combo (Logitech G15 and G7). The mouse tracking performance was stunning, but as usual I found the physical shape of this Logitech mouse to be much less comfortable than Microsoft's IntelliMouse series.

And don't get me started on the crappy keyboard. It's a perfect example where cheapness fooked up a brilliant idea. The material from which the G15 is made (including the keys) is some sort of half-rubbery plastic which shows wear marks in under 1 month of use.

I gladly sold both my G15 and G7 a month or so ago.

Why can't someone make a keyboard with aluminum keys and frame?! Well, Enermax has such a keyboard, but it has no shortcut buttons at all...

Good points Ian. I am buying at a good price so I can accept some of the quality issues. I looked at the Saitec backlit keyboards and have idea if they are better quality but stuck with the Logitech combo for the price.

I'm replacing an older Logitech Cordless Optical Duo so this new set will feel familiar.
