Just recieved my new Valeintine 1 today. Not sure whether I should mount it on the window or on the visor. Where do you guys place your detectors?

To the left and slightly under the rear view as I have the power into the sunroof power leads.

I have mine mounted to the windshield with the suction cup mount right up above the rear-view mirror on the passenger side, but fairly tight to the center. Seems to be most out of the way there...

You will enjoy it. I am on a road trip right now (to the Smoky Mountains). The state troopers were out in force today, and I got plenty of early warning of radar on the other side of hills, around curves, etc.

I tried it out on the window today below the rear view, and it seemed to work well, however it got very hot, felt like it burnt my hands, so i took it down. Here in vegas the sun shines so much. I guess i will use it on the visor, so it will have a bit of shade.

the problem w/ visor mount is that it must "look" thru the front tint.

Realize that the higher you mount the detector, the less laser protection you're going to have. At heights mentioned, it won't pick it up at all. I place mine right about the dashboard, just high enough to clear the windshield wipers.
