My dad has a few jet skis, but I haven't been on them in years. I start out each summer wanting to go, but never find the time. They are a blast!!

[QUOTE=MCİ]Rules around LI got better, they recently allowed PWC in Fire Island again since most new PWC are very low-emission compared to boats. Most lakes upstates stopped trying to ban pwc after realizing the cost to tourism. The licensing requirement is an annoyance but raising the minimum riding age (from 10yrs -> 16yrs) was a very good idea. I agree a boat will be next but I'll still need to keep a jetski for the lake.

Both GTX are non-intercooled and put out 185 hp. The newer 05-06 put out 215hp. Difference is about 4-5 mph on the top end. Maintanence on the new 4-tec engine is minimal. The closed loop cooling makes it so easy to flush, it takes about 2-3 minutes and the engine never comes in contact with fresh ocean/lake water.

The motor is 4 stroke, fuel injected and liquid cooled. They come a long way......unfort the 2007 that just came out are now $13.5k

Ugh, flushing the engine... I was diligent about it, flushed it after every ride, but damn, I hated it.

I'v never owned own, however, I love to ride when we go on vacation. The last time we were in Key West the kids and I rented Waverunners and had a blast. Great toys in the hands of responsible riders.

Enjoy your new rides!

I have 2 pwc. Mine are a few years old and not as nice as yours, but we have alot of fun on them. Yours look great, and I am sure you and your family will also enjoy them. Last year my 14 yr old son got a $120 ticket on it for being to young to drive it, by himself. Have fun on them and be careful.

E61Silver is an unknown quantity at this point
Planning on buying this at the boat show in Jan.

http://www.yamaha-motor.com/waverunn...1/0/specs.aspx

It almost as fast as a SEA DO and does not have a supercharger to go bad and cause problems.

Very nice. Yama makes some of the best and most reliable skis. I was warned about the Seadoo SC issue, theres a simple inexpensive fix to just replace the cermanic washers with metal ones. This elminates any engine damage risks from broken washers - its a cheap proven DIY job.

As for the supercharger, I read all the manufact. had an agreement to limit the speed of PWC. Seadoo ended up breaking away from the agreement leading to the speed war in the past recent years. Honda added turbos to their PWC engines to counter and Kawa just released a SC version of the Ultra 250. Rumor has it Yama is adding a SC very shortly maybe 2007-2008.

Everyone wants speed, it went from 40 to 50, then 60, now 70 mph. 80 mph will be the standard soon from the showroom.
