I used to actually think that some of these people with lesser equipment are putting themselves in jeopardy by driving in the mess. I was always confident the X5 could handle. My current car suffers from wheel hop. I hit the gas in the rain, and it gets sideways in a hurry. No such problem in the X.

xDrive works wonders in the rain. Doesn't seem like it in the dry (unless you corner hard), but it corrects quickly and seamlessly, often without DSC. You may get overconfident after awhile though.............you think you can handle everything. Always remember physics will win.

The only problems I ever had in the X5 or the 330 in the rain were with hydroplaning. That, I would assume, has to do with tires.. In the 330 I used to have Michelin Pilot Sports on there, and they floated over any puddle.. I just had Michelin PS2s on there and now it does much, much better in the rain.

I had DSC save me in the rain when an umbrella blew out in front of my car and I had to swerve to miss it! without it i would of been spun out!
