Unhappy Hello, my name is Ken and I'm a Philadelphia Flyers hockey fan

With one of, if not thee worst start in franchise history, I can do nothing but shake my head and live in denial. There was all sorts of talk over the summer about the team signing "faster" players especially on the blue line to keep up with the new pace of the game. 1 of those players has already been waived (Baumgartner).

It's terribly disappointing and it's better to be honest about it I guess. The Flyers are off to a pitiful start I'm sad. In all the years of being a Flyers fan, I don't think I've ever experienced a season like this... even those seasons in the 90s when they didn't make it to the playoffs.

Granted, the calendar still says it's football season, and there is a lot of time for the Flyers to turn things around. However, this is not how I wanted to see the season start, or have the first month of hockey end.

7 games played, 1 - 5 - 1, 3 points.... last in the NHL
LET'S GO FLYERS

I was reading TSN.CA about Nedved being re-assigned to the AHL... about time, that guy was past his prime 2 years ago. He needs to be on the West Coast where perimeter players play...

What are your thoughts on D Hatcher? I'm watching my Red Wings struggle this year, with the loss of our veteran players, but I was glad when they let Hatcher go. He does not seem fit for the new NHL and guys like Pronger are using their size/speed disadvantage and stepping up their quickness and shot accuracy. Even though he came from the Avs, I think Forsberg is one of the best players in the NHL, when healthly.

I'll be watching more closely after the Tigers win the WS.

Hi Ken. Talking about your problem is the first step to recovery!

I think I posted something a week or two ago about the Flyers being old and slow. It shows. Bobby Clarke should take the heat, but he'll likely get a pass.

Just please, please, make sure he doesn't sign #2 to man your blueline, ok?!

Forsberg left in the first after spraining his left wrist. X-rays were negative, but Flyers coach Ken Hitchcock said Forsberg will miss the team's game tonight at Florida. "I don't know exactly how long it's going to take, but not too long," Forsberg said. "Hopefully it's just a sprain and maybe a week or so."

Heyyy I wanted to chime abooot the Flyers. I have been a Flyers fan since '74-'75 when I was a just a wee pup. Clarkey has been recycling the leagues trash for ever...he'll pass up a player in their prime and then sign them 5 years later or never. The slop he's been putting on the ice is a disgrace. Old and slow has been their motto for atleast the last 15 years. He must have some good smack or photos of Ed Snyder because the '70's were a long time ago and its definitely time for a change!

I couldn't agree more... Clarke needs to take the heat and he won't. I don't think there is one fan that has been happy with the players he's been signing in a loooooooooooooooong time. When I first heard they signed Hatcher, I was stoked, then after watching their performance on the ice and the difference in the game I thought, this is not good. It upsets me cause it's also my style of hockey... I'm a big stay at home defenseman and play the body... that doesn't fly anymore.

The team has one line that clicks, and some other good players that need to get their act together. I would exactly say the team is "bad"... there is talent there, it's just not working in today's NHL

Bottom line I think is a different mentality in the GM's seat... you're not going to win the Cup with the Broad Street Bullies... the days of the Legion of Doom are long past. It's all about speed and finesse (sp?)

Ken,

I feel your pain. While I'm a Devil fan I'm also a Packer and Cubs fan. Just hang in there.
