Got mine with Amex points via a Home Depot gift card. I was so impressed I took a picture. This was the first use and just after vacuuming with an Oreck. This house is 3 years old, no kids, one cat, vacuumed regularly. Disgusting, huh?

A bag machine provides the same or more suction.

The bag catches most of the dust and is easier to throw out.

Nothing in CR test show that the Dyson has more suction than the rest.
I fact it shows it has less!

The operative word here is MOST. That leaves the rest for the human race to suck up. CR test?? Come on perfection dosen't end at their doorstep. They are human like the rest of us meaning that their testing isn't perfect either.

I have a Dyson DC15 vac and it is awesome. The best part about it was we got it free since a buddy of mine used to work for dyson and I was part of their trial group when they were prototyping it out.

Dyson here too. It is great. I think it sucks very well and is easy to maintain but just as important, it moves very easily. I got mine at Home Depot when they were closing them out for $280. That was about a year
ago.

I had a Eureka cannister style upright and it broke but before that it wasn't worth a darn.

Dyson fan here. Had one in the UK for several years, sold it cheap when we moved back (240 volt, didn't want to carry a transformer around the house). Worked very well.

Couldn't buy one in Canada, it wasn't distributed here. When they were introduced in the US 18 months ago we picked one up in Oregon (no sales tax) on the way back from San Francisco. Brought it home in the trunk of the Z4 along with a week's luggage.

Haven't used the built-in vacuum since we got it home, and it is a 6500 sq ft house. Wouldn't be without a Dyson.

I got myself an upright Kärcher here in Germany. Simple and efective. I'm considering to use as a wind tunel. Even my wife is impressed and that is nnot easy to achieve.
