Help!!! Dealer screwed up my Performance Center Delivery

My dealer called and told me that my 335i is on the way over to the US. However its on a ship to NJ, not SC!!!! They said that they're gonna see if they can get BMW NA to get it routed down to SC once it gets to NJ, but they weren't sure if its possible.

I don't care about getting my car ASAP, I wanted to take delivery down at the PC towards the middle of Nov anyway.

Anyone with a suggestion?

If you don't mind the wait then go get a new order... Or since they screwed up have them fly you out to SC and experience the hotel stay, dining, and driving then have them fly you back and take the car from the dealer...

Tell them what you want/expect and let them respond - then some real direction can be offered.

Piss and moan a bit. I think they'll step up to the plate. Keep us posted and good luck.

Having shipped my personal car with the same line that BMW uses they may/may not be able to do it. The vehicles are loaded per the port of unloading and all the customs docs are done for the vehicle at that port prior to arrival. They may be able to truck it down if it is their fault and it may get there quicker dependant upon how fast it clears customs although NJ is a pain in the ass as I found out when I had mine shipped there to save two weeks. I had to spend the day walking all my paperwork around and grabbing customs people to ensure my vehicle was inspected and released the same day.

Hope that helps.

Update: So far this morning I got an e-mail from the scheduling coordinator for the PCD to see if they can accomdate me on the date I need. Hopefully I'll get it. I hope my dealer can do something to get my car re-directed, b/c I'm not happy at all with these clowns.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I have much leverage for further price negotiations since the demand for the car is still hot. But, maybe they can throw in a day of driving school and a few accessories to compensate me.

Update #2

I have great news - seems like BMWNA really pulled some strings to get me straightened out. Many thanks to Donnie Isley (PCD instructor) and Danielle Swain for working their magic. Not only did they tell me that I can have the PCD date I needed, but they will have the car re-routed to SC once its off the ship in NJ. WOW!!! Can't believe how fast, responsive, and polite they were. Its things like this that makes me a BMW lover forever!

Now, I'm just waiting to hear confirmation from my dealer that all this is set in stone. I did a lot of the legwork to contact the right folks, so I'm still expecting something from my dealer as compensation. I think I'll start with the aero kit
