Now I know why we have so many miles on our X5....

1st year, my wife had to commute to Cedars-Sinai for work for over an year and put over 30K miles on it.

After WestFest IV and turning 142K miles this past weekend, I went back home about 50 miles away. Then, I had to make an errand run down to Orange County to pick up some glasses down @ South Coast Plaza and passed SuperGreg's neighborhood (about 75 miles) Then went to Irvine to pick up some sushi and brought it home for my wife to enjoy!! (About another 80 miles)

Despite all that driving today, I was quite comfortable in the X5. The X5 is a great fun car/SAV to drive for long distances!!

Yes, it's still the ultimate driving machine to me, I just put a 1000 miles on mine over the weekend driving from DC to Boston and back and enjoyed every minute of it. BTW, i witnessed a 3 car pile up on 95 S in Connecticut with an X in the front, hope it was no one from this forum. Anyway the X was behaviour was outstanding. It stayed straight on course!
Sorry 4 highjacking the thread.

When I was living in Hermosa Beach, I was commuting between HB and my 3 offices in Anaheim, Wilshire Blvd and Dana Point. My '01 X5 4.4i handled it like a champ....

In L.A there are many chain "restaurants" which generally, imho, blow, so when you find a good non-chain restaurant you tend to make every effort to keep going there.

I hear you guys loud and clear. I drove over 1000 miles to WFIV and back this weekend, and fell in love with my X all over again. It's my wife's daily driver, so I don't get to enjoy it nearly as much as I can. But it's an awesome car. I have to along ways to catch up to KewlX5's though and BTW, your car looks great with 142,000 miles on it

Same situation as me. The M is my daily driver but I try to steal the X whenever I can!
