Jail for driver who decapitated friend

The two men were on their way home from a bar after a night of drinking when Brohm stuck his head out the window because he thought he was going to be sick, authorities said.

Police said Hutcherson was apparently unaware his friend had been decapitated -- and drove more than 10 miles to his parents' home, where he went inside and fell asleep with the headless body still in his truck.

A neighbor discovered the body the next morning.

Five years?

What will he serve? Two or three years?

Investigators said Hutcherson's blood-alcohol level was probably more than twice the legal limit at the time of the accident."

Horrible facts.

No. That's not justice. No way. And I realize the victim's family asked for leniency. Hutcherson's actions are despicable. That result is extremely unfair, and tremendously offensive. Had that happened in RI, Hutcherson would be looking at at least 20 years, regardless of the input of the victim's family.

I've got to move to Rhode Island. If a dude like that would get 20 years I'd hate, or love, to see what a child diddler or rapist gets. Lock 'em up!

Actually, I have often proposed a "misdemeanor beat and release" program whereby a defendant charged with a DUI or shoplifting, what have you, can opt for a forceful beating by the biggest deputy sheriff in the courts. It would be done with a cane a la Singapore. After the administration of the beating, there would be no additional fines or jail time. I honestly think that many defendants would rather take the lickin' than pay fines and serve time. If only I were king....

In NY, he probably would have gotten 20 years, but for double parking after the incident...Who cares if there's a headless body in the car....

I cant believe the family is OK with him....

Reminds me of the Chris Rock stand up bit, at least I think it was Rock, where he proposes doing away with jail and in its place, when you're convicted, you're assigned to receive a certain number of anal rapes to fit your crime.
would keep me on the straight and narrow.
