I was just at Best Buy and saw some N routers on display. I was thinking about it for about a second, as I already have g built into my laptops and I would need to buy cards for them. But if the argument is compelling enough, I do it.
So, it'll be interesting, it sounds like a good deal.

Its worth it, by what I read. Linksys is now shipping their wireless-N router.

4 months ago I had to replace my old 2Wire B router. I looked at several N and Pre-N products. I read a very good review of Belkin Pre-N router so I decided to give it a try. I bought one at COMPUSA and test it for about 2 weeks. I did not buy the N card with it but the router worked flawlessly in G mode and its range was fantastic. However Voice over IP worked erratically. I found out in some forums that this was a problem with this router. I used Skype pretty often to converse with my relatives in Europe so I brought this router back and took the LinkSys WRT300N instead. I was pretty disappointed with it. I was expecting something better from LinkSys. The range and strength of the signal in G mode was not good, particularly after having tested the Belkin. Where I got a 70% signal with the Belkin at the end of my backyard I got only a 25% with the Linksys. Also the router stopped broadcasting from time to time and I had to reboot it to get the signal back. After few days I decided to bring it back and then tried the Belkin N1 Router. I have been using this router in G mode for about 3 month now and it has been working without any problem. The range in G mode is great, much better than the LinkSys WRT300N but not as good as the Belkin Pre N though. Overall I am very happy with this product. I am working from home most of the time when I am not travelling and a reliable router is important to me. I have not had any problem with this router what so ever since I started using it.

i might go with a dell notebook with a built in "draft N" ( currently a "free" option at dell's website right now) and a Netgear N router advertised at 300 mbps max transfers rate, at least its what dell recommend

With Draft N you have to go with the recommendation is as there is no assurance that your draft N card will be compatible with another brand N product
