Restaurant picks in lower Manhattan?

Ok, always helped by th X5World review, so here goes:

I'll be staying in Soho for a romantic weekend with my wife

on Thanksgiving weekend (going in on Black Friday). Any recommendations on good restaurants in the area (SoHo, Tribecca, W. Village, etc.)? My wife is particularly fond of Italian food, something with a cool and/or romantic atmosphere preferred (no loud pasta joints-no kids with us on this trip!

)

Doesn't have to be Italian, just a preference.

As always, I'm looking forward to the great suggestions from all onboard. TIA!
