Question Sunoco Ultra downgraded to 93
I was a loyal Ultra user until I moved and there are no Sunoco stations anywhere close to my commuting route. I dropped the X off at the dealer this morning (more front end issues) anyway, I filled up at the station next door. The pump now says Ultra 93? I asked the attendant and he said that they made the change last week and that Ultra will now only be 93 octane. What's up with that?

GOOD MORNING wake up and smell the octane its been like that for a while now, actually a lot of gas stations instead of 91 now carry 93 at least the shell and exxon that i sometimes get are 93 and Costco over there on stinky island is also 93

HELLO....Sunoco was the only brand that had 94 octane.

Laura I believe all the Sunoco's in the NE region of the US (that's where most of them are, anyway) all did away with Ultra 94 about a year or two ago. I heard from the sunoco franchise owner in my area that it was because of refinery costs. Ultra 94 is still sold in Canada, though. I used to only go to Sunoco because of Ultra 94, but now I use Mobil, as well....
If memory serves me correct, the Sunoco on the Palisades Pkwy right before the exit for the manhattan bound GW Bridge still carries Ultra 94
