I used to on my Jeeps and my Jimmy - never did in either of the X5s. I used to get engine knocks in my Jeeps in the winter when they changed to the oxegynated fuel but thought it was from low octane.

Sunoco used to offer 94 in PA but they did away with it a while ago now all you can get is 93, HOWEVER, there is a Sunoco station near the Delaware/PA boarder that still sells racing fuel 100 oct. (at about $8/gallon)

Sunoco moved from 94 to 93 a good two years ago... noticed in VA, MD, PA, and NJ. Premium was 91 and Ultra was 93. Also, there is absolutely NO difference between 93 and 94 other than wasting money on 1 octane.
You will however see a difference going from 93 to race octanes, as well as a slight improvement from 91 to 93. 91 to 93 I have proven on my own since there is only 1 station I know of out here offering 93. My car performs better and gets better mileage when I fill with 93. Bottom line, 94 was all marketing bs.
