Not sure about the price,
Really decide on whether you want 4x4 for not. The truck I have now is a 4x4 and I live near the snow and my family has a farm. I rarely have used the 4x4 since I have owned it, maybe 4-5 times and that was just messing around. Only needed it when I went up to the snow. However because of the extra weight, I have worst gas mileage and I am slower than a 4x2 all of the time. If I had to do it again I would buy a two wheel drive. I have the x5 for the occasional jont to the snow.

I agree w/rocketir as to questioning the need for a 4X4 pickup rolling around the 'burbs of ATL, but jes' my 2Cts.
That and a tad pricey to my mind for a 60,000 mile, barely 2+ yr oldpickup, which are ubiquitous on used car lots all over the south.

Here's what my wholesale "book" says. I assumed "SLE" trim. I included all the things that could be added for extra value.

2002 GMC SIERRA 1500 EXT CAB SLE

DESCRIPTION
Engine Type: 4.8L V8
Body Style: 4 DOOR P/UP

Standard Features: ABS STD, AC STD, CD STD
DUAL FRONT AIR BAGS STD, POWER WINDOWS STD

Base Price: @ 43,000 miles $12,550
Mileage: 60,000 -2,125

ADDS & DEDUCTS

ADD: 4 WHEEL DRIVE + 3,100
ADD: 5.3L V8 + 450
ADD: DUAL POWER SEATS + 350
ADD: LONG BED (8') + 300
ADD: SPORTSIDE + 500

So if it has 4wd and nothing else, the current wholesale value is $13,525. If it has all the other options that brings it to $15,125 (in case you're wondering, all the other options mean nothing to the dealer).

Remember this is an average price of what a dealer would get in auction for this vehicle. If you are using it for towing or off-road stuff it might be worth it, but it will get crummy gas mileage. You'd be better finding something else if all you will be doing is commuting. My 0.02.

Ah, that explains the need for the truck.

I'm not a huge fan of trucks. My friend has a Tundra and I hate it. Personally, I'd go with an SUV. But if you want a truck, thats cool. I'm partial to Rams, though

Why do you need a new car David? Don't you own an X5 already? Are you getting rid of your X? Or... do just WANT a new car, but don't really NEED a new car.....?

Juan
