I have to buy 3 new computers need advice!
Im ordering 3 new computers for myself soon. 1 for home and 2 for my 2 offices. Im thinking about Dell.

Which is better Athlon or pentium. They are telling me that athlon is just as good but I always thought Pentium was better. Also how many GHZ should I look for. is 3.00ghz good.

The one im looking for is 1Gb ram and 160Gb HDD is this good enough

I am not into computers and dont know much about them. I just know how to use them. I dont how to pick one out and whats good and whats not. Anyhelp is greatly apreciated.
Sanguru if your here after you make fun at my computer iliteracy please give some advice.
I will also be linking these computers together so i can work from home sometime to keep my wife happy and going to be hooking up digital cameras from one of my businesses and will be viewing them from home if that matters

intel is better right now, there core 2 is nice.. faster than amd's top of the line right now!

Either Intel or AMD will be fine. You really need to get 2 GB RAM now, especially if you intend to run MS's newest version, Vista. The 160 GB hard drive is probably perfectly fine. A 3 GHz processor is more than adequate.

Are these all going to be desktops, or laptops?

its the name of the processor.. like it used to be pentium 2, 3, 4
they used a diffrent name now!

Yes they are all desk tops. I will be getting a laptop also in a month or so.
Yes I will be upgrading to Vista when it comes out. Do you really think I need the 2 gb of RAM. The guy I talked to said 1gb was fine. But this is the same guy that said intel and AMD are about the same

Yea I know what the pentium 4 was but I figured they were just gonna go to Pentium 5. I didnt know they are called core 2 now. I told you i didnt know shit about computers.

Really wow. I just cant keep up with this shit. It goes so fast. At least with BMW there models stay arounf for 7 years. With computers your lucky if the computer you buy today will still be up to date in 7 months. Most likely not

haha yeah my computer i upgraded this summer is like not even up there anymore =( oh well time for a new one soon plus a new laptop mine is acting funny now
