So I lucked into a PS3..

One of those right time, right place type of deals.

Here are my current thoughts.. I bought 3 games. Resistance, Battleground: Full Auto and NBA 2K7.

After 3 days here is my review:
1) all three games suck. So if you didn't get your PS3 yet, no worries. The current games are pretty bad.
2) I hate the fact that the controllers are rechargable vs. the Xbox 360 controllers that take double A's. First, you have to remember to recharge them. Second, even when you buy a second controller, the second controller does not come with a cable to charge it. So you need to buy an extra cable for that also. Also, wires are so 1999. I like the clean look of wireless systems and Sony dropped the ball on this one. Hopefully someone will come out with an aftermarket kit that will not require recharging.. -- also, lets say you are in a game marathon. WHo wants to be shut down for hours for recharge? I would rather just throw in some AA's and keep going.

3) BLUE RAY dvd's are nothing less than amazing. They look insane through the PS3 and that is reason enough to buy this system without even considering the games.

I have high hopes for this system (as it appears it may even allow a keyboard and mouse in the future.. (which would be incredible if it got incorporated as an option into the gaming for those of us PC game freaks that prefer a lot of buttons)) But for now, no rush to get it. Your not missing anything, yet.

Thanks for the review. I totally agree with you on the wireless feature. Haven't touch a PS3 yet, but it will be interesting on how they compete with the other new generation gaming systems.

Lucky dog! How did you get so lucky?

I'm looking for a Wii. I think it looks very interesting and interactive. I heard that the price of Wiis will go down $50 after the Christmas rush.

I like the wireless controllers. I use the same USB cord to charge both controllers (not at the same time of course) and I haven't had any problems so far. They charge pretty quick and last a while. I guess an extra cord would be nice but I can do without one. I think the graphics for Madden are pretty good but the game play is questionable. Tiger Woods Golf is a lot better. Blu Ray movies are very nice. I'm glad I have a PS3 and I think its worth every penny.

Blu-ray player in itself makes the PS3 deal good. I think I will pick one when the next 600,000 units land in US.

Nice to know...

I got lucky as well stumbling into a PS3 at Circuit City, stopped by to buy a DVD when I saw they had two in stock(60GB version) so I decided to buy one to primarily use as a BluRay DVD player...

Have never been into console gaming but since I have it, decided to pick the "easiest" game that I might enjoy... NBA '07, wow the graphics is amazing but I still have to practice more as I always get blown out by the other team... hahaha..

If you go to the PS3 Store, you'll be able to download a demo of Gran Turismo 5.

Oh, and the Keyboard works, and I've been online with it aswell.

The Wii is awesome. My kids LOVE it. My wife loves it. People just like to sit and watch. And all you need is the Wii Sports game that comes with the system. I have 4 other games, but have barely tried them. You just cannot beat the interaction.

I also got lucky to pick up the ps3 yesterday from toysrus. I don’t like the way ps3 recharges the controller either. I am wondering if it can be recharged by connecting the usb with the pc instead of the ps3.

Talking about the wii, we have so much fun with it. The wii sports sure is the game for the holidays.

Yes, you can recharge the controller via the PC/Laptop as well.
