Wow, I actually find this offensive.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/12/21/wro....ap/index.html

But I guess I'm one of the few as I have hear virtually nothing about this.

what's offensive? someone made an honest mistage situating the decal when the girder was on the ground, and they replaced it... was there more to the story?

I think people should put a little more effort in the QC process when your putting a nations flag on ground zero, representing an event in which almost 3000 US serviceman have died for. But that is just me, IMO it is a mistake you aren't allowed to make.

I'm glad they caught it, even if it was the dreaded media that picked up on it. The important thing is that it got fixed and as a secondary benefit, it educated people about the proper display of the flag. I don't think many people knew the rules. I wonder how many people know about the proper way to retire, or dispose of, a worn out American flag.

A minor mistake that most people would not even notice. It's certainly not as offensive as when a U.S. Marine color guard flew the Canadian flag upside down at the opening of game two of the 1992 World Series between the Atlanta Braves and the Toronto Blue Jays.

3000 US serviceman have died in Iraq, which had nothing to do with 9/11. The two are not related even one bit.
