Ya'll driving yourself crazy, imo... That's a good tv, as are the dozen rec'd here, or the dozens that can be found in a quick search. The prob., as you have quickly discovered, is narrowing it down. It's your bro's tv, so I hope he goes and "looks" at some, at some B&M joints, in real life. He has to watch the sumbitch... If it were me, I'd simply narrow it down to a half dozen choices that fit his needs and let him decide...to me, it's like telling someone what digicam or car they "need". Ny 25ct is up...sorry I have no rec'ds... xoxo OlUncMtr

If it was for me I would still go with the Sony XBRII.
Its Sony top set and the update was released this fall. Sony does a great job on non HD pictures and the controls are easy to use. Almost any set does good with clean HD signal but the better sets filter and enhance sub par signals. Last edited by E61Silver; 12-28-2006 at 01:53 PM. |

I have a new setup. Photos coming soon. Have it hooked up to my sony media PC through HDMI. Running digital cable w/ HDMI. Typing to you now via infrared Sony keyboard/touchpad.
Its only 46" and glass but for my current home situation, it'll do. When I build a new home on the water, I will go DLP projector and aim for a real theater like experience....

Sorry for replying late. I just finished doing the HD-dice and IPOD stealth install (should have done a how-to).
Give me a call. There are a lot of options for $1500.

No problem. The screen should be with me soon. I might have to use wire-ties to secure the screen as BMW has stopped making those left and right brackets. I ended with the HD-Dice and it works great. Still a little buggy but when it works, it is worth it. Since I have the DSP, the install is a little more involved. I ended up with the dice under the driver seat and the IPOD in the cup holder section (I can just slide the cover back on for stealth mode). The antenna for the HD dice is also under the seat and I can receive major digital stations. I can post some pictures of my install if you are interested.
