DOH

Correct BMW is actually middle of the pack at best, just the quality of car is very nice...but also...very expensive..thus you're paying for that added quality. Not like the X5 is the same price as an Explorer. (In reality the BMW is twice as expensive as the Ford SUV, I wonder if the Ford SUV really has twice as many issues?)

I am honestly not a car snob.

I will be up front and say that I am not a fan of American Cars. some are very handsome from the outside BUT then you step inside and OMG what have they done cheap cheap cheap plastic. Take the Chrysler prime example.

Americans suck at building cars.

You know, I was going to ask how many Scottish 4 door sedans rolled off the assembly line last year, but then I realized that I can count to zero all by myself

To put things in perspective, the US auto makers make cars for 300MM people in the US. The average US income is well below what would allow the majority of those 300MM people to buy a high end non-US car. That being said, the Big 3 have to produce affordable cars for the masses, and that means useing materials that aren't exactly BMW grade. With THAT being said, those US-Big3 sh*t boxes are still more reliable than the fancy Euro cars that those of us of means buy.

E61Silver is an unknown quantity at this point
The quality of most cars is high today.

The problem American Auto makers have is the cost of pension and other benefits.
