I graduate tomorrow !!!!
For those of you who have been keeping track. I walk tomorrow. I will have my MFA in Directing from the American Film Institute (A.F.I.) - It's been two years of extremely intensive work and has also been a ton of fun... Have made 4 short films including a 35mm finish to film print that will run the festival circuit. Have made lots of friends (and some enemies :p ) but hey, that's film school !! very competitive. -Got the family coming in from the east coast for the ceremony and a weekend full of parties. - The bad news is, as of Thursday, for the first time in over 10 years, I am offically unemployeed. lol !!! - just thought I would share the good news with all of you.. Best, Seth - oh, and although it seems as though I am a little bit old to be going to school, I am actually the average age at 31. AFI is a professional training school that requires a minimum of 3 years experience in the field. That is why they call us Fellows and not students and it is called a conservatory not a school..

Seth - that's outstanding!! You should be very proud. My only disappointment is that my invitation didn't arrive soon enough for me to make plane reservations. But we'll be there in spirit

I'll make sure to get the invitation out on time when I get my doctorate, lol.
Thanks for the wishes.. I am wondering who is going to speak at commencement. Usually we get someone like Spielberg, Joel Silver, Copolla, etc.. - I have a sneaking suspension it might be Lucas. He is getting the AFI lifetime achievement award on Thursday.. Or maybe it will be Meryl Streep. She got the AFI Lifetime lastyear. I am hoping for Deniro !!

Congratulations! Film is something that's always interested me. I also love just watching movies. Again, congratulations, it's really something to be proud of, especially with a film going around at the festivals. Let us know if some of your work becomes available to rent/buy/see!
