Good tire, but it would depend upon one's definition and
actual local situ, of "winter".

Well I had the factory 19s on with the tires it came on brand new. They seemed to work just fine. We had two inches of ice on the pavement over here and they did a stellar job. I think the HPs should do even better. I will let you know as I am going up snowboarding this weekend.

I have to say, the snows don't look bad. My girl looks mean. They seem to somehow fill the wheel well better than the all seasons on the 18s. I'll take pictures later, my girl is all dirty now.

My rig looks weak as hell with the snows on since they are so much narrower then the 335s on my summer wheels they get lost in the fender flare

I meant height not width. The snows are 255 all around, maybe due to the knobby treads, they look higher than the all season 18s

255s are still pretty wide for a winter tire......then again I guess you have a sport packaged 4.4i version.

Haha I've unfortunately been trying to keep myself from wearing out the knobbier treads on the winter tires and thus, haven't been able to have "fun" cornering in the X3. I must say though, the Pirelli Snowsports I have do drive very well on dry weather for a snow tire; they feel about the same and we have no problems scooting along at 85+ mph back from NY last weekend.

Been there done that. Going from 20's to 18's a real killer. Looks like I'm riding on bicycle wheels.

Tell me about it....Exit ramps just aren't the same with the 18s. I went around one tonight I would have eaten up with my 19s...Had to remember what rubber I had under me.
