I'm with Juan. I might even consider buying one if they keep all the interior metal real billet... I really like the looks of the convertable. Having said that, I'm going to have to give the new Challenger are real hard look too when it comes out...

I like the idea of dragging it back, and as a GM convertible bond
holder, I have a vested interest in their success...good looking bod in a retro way, but the dash looks like an old Corvair. And, the look-down-at-the-console "gauges" must have the Japanese and German design teams Rotfl. I had a '78 TransAm, 400, 4 speed, etc. It was a hoot, and the 'Maros & TAs were always the slightly more sensible, cheaper "Vette" of the day; this must be the subtle intent here, too. I hope they keep the weight down and don't dumb it down too much, in the rush to sell the watered down version by the hundreds of thousands, ala the last 10 years of the "Mustang". Otoh, I don't see how they will sell enough units to make more than a ripple in the balance sheet...something(s) are really amiss in the idea/design/implementation of the "US" car companies, these days. That is said as a considered opin of hopefulness, not bashing them. But, they may have to make several trips to haul azz, and get closer to the comp. My Qtr's up... BR,mD

I agree. The one # I haven't read yet is the projected # of units they think that they'll sell. Once that is published, we'll have a better idea of whether GM has dilusions of grandeur or not. My gut says that the first 2 years sales numbers will be strong, and then taper off. It all depends on how well the drop-head sells and what the MSRP is. IMHO.
