PDA Phone. Pearl vs. Q vs. Dash --Part II--
Hi,

I am in need of a phone that has email, internet, etc. My Razr just ain't cutting my corporate needs anymore.
Also, I am a MAC user. So if one phone works better with my contacts and calendar syncing, advice is appreciated...

I plan to get the Iphone when it comes out but I have immediate needs that can not wait until July. Even if I have to pay "full price" for a phone, it is a cost I am willing to absorb.

So my question is, which phone to get. Do I stay with Verizon and get the Q phone until the Iphone comes out? (My contract is up on my RAZR so I could probably get a good deal.)

Do I switch to Cingular now and get the Pearl and then just pay the retail price for the Iphone when it comes out? Or do I get the Dash?

I know Verizon is expensive but my company pays for it. I don't mind the extra cost. I just don't know if I want the Q or the Pearl..

Help me..

Have you considered a 700P? Contact Kewl X5. I have one as well. But it's palm based not windows.

I had a treo 650 for a while and was not a huge fan. Didn't like the buttons or the stylus. it also felt like i was talking into a calculator.
It's the same problem I have with the Blackberry (non-pearl) it feels like a calculator.
I like the "feel" of a phone with the functionality of a PDA.

I am leaning towards the pearl.. I am just worried about the GSM..
I know, obviously, nothing will compare to the quality of Verizon's network.
But I plan on leaving Verizon for the Iphone anyway..

I'm not sure how well either a Blackberry or Windows Mobile phone is going to work with a Mac. As Barry suggested, Palm phones work quite a bit better with Macs. I have the Treo 680, although I too will be getting the iPhone when it comes out. Good luck in whatever you decide.

You want the Iphone so why not wait and get that?

I have a treo 700W and works ok but is subject to freeze ups when it tries to do too much.

Iphone won't be available for six months. And I have a sneaking suspicion that they will not be rolled out in massive quantities. It would not surprise me one bit if the Iphone were a bit hard to get for the first few months..

But the main reason: I need something with web access and email immediately.
